Music at First Prestbyterian

Praising God and joining together in song is an important part of our Worship Service.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is a volunteer ensemble open to those of high school age and above. The Mission of this Choir is to provide anthems and responses which enhance the Worship Service as well as to provide musical leadership for the congregation. The Choir teaches, inspires, and joins with the congregation in praising God. The Choir performs various genres of music. Rehearsals are held from after Labor Day through Pentecost on Thursday evenings beginning at 7:00 p. m. for approximately 1-½ hours. There are no summer rehearsals. This group is led by our Music Director.

Handbell Choir

On occasion, The Handbell Choir shares its gifts in worship. Its Mission is to enhance the Worship Service through performance of various styles of handbell repertoire. This Choir rings both two and three-octave arrangements. Performances at a service occur four times a year. Rehearsals are on Mondays, for one hour, beginning, at 7:00 p. m. with a hiatus from January to April and no summer rehearsals.
This group is open to those 16 years of age and older and is led by Barbara Dunham who states: “All you need is to be able to count to four and know your right hand from your left hand.”
