Deacons Partner with American Red Cross for a 2nd Blood Drive: October 8th
Our Deacons have partnered with the Red Cross to offer a second blood drive in 2019 to help meet the needs of our community. The Red Cross will provide signage, donor outreach, advertising, and all other resources. The Deacons will provide access to our fellowship hall, volunteers and homemade cookies for our donors. The blood drive will take place here at the church on Tuesday, October 8th from 12:00pm to 5:15pm. Please see the sign-up sheets posted on the Deacons Bulletin Board if you wish to make some cookies for our donors or volunteer your time. Donating blood makes a big difference in the lives of others—please consider donating if you are able. Contact Gwen Thompson if you have any questions regarding the blood drive.

Peace and Global Witness Offering
This is one of the four session-approved PCUSA collections done each year. Normally this is collected on World Communion Sunday (October 6th), but since we are worshiping at the Kirk that day, envelopes are already in the pews if you would like to donate to this annual offering.
“A gift to the Peace & Global Witness Offering enables the church to promote the Peace of Christ by addressing systems of conflict and injustice across the world.”

Thank You for Your Generous Troy People Concerned Pantry Donations!
TPC staff at St. Anastasia Church suggests donations of the following items for the Pantry shelves: Instant mashed potatoes, coffee (drip grind), small bundles of toilet paper, and dish soap. As always, peanut butter, jelly, and personal hygiene and household cleaning items are requested. Thank you for your continued generosity.

Blessing of the Animals
Join in today from 12:30-2:30. Come for a treat and a prayer with animals big or small! If you are mourning the loss of a pet, bring a picture for a prayer.

MISSION GIVING PROJECT — Presbyterian Ingathering 2019
Please consider contributing to the 2019 Presbyterian Ingathering that supports approximately 35 agencies within the Detroit Presbytery area. Select one or more leaves from the board in the narthex and return each item with the leaf attached and the dollar value written on each leaf by September 29. (All items must be new.) If you would prefer to donate money, see Louise Glazier or Joyce Peterson and they will purchase an item for you. Your generous support is always appreciated.

If you can assist in sorting donations contributed by the participating churches, help is needed at Westminster Presbyterian Church (17567 Hubbell, Detroit, 48235) on October 21, 22, and 23 from 9:00 a.m – 2:00 p.m. On the 23rd they are looking for people willing to deliver the donations to various agencies. If you have any questions, contact Emily Nietering at 313-278-9269.
