Please join us on May 18th from 9am to 1pm, for Church Spring Clean-up! Bring your wheelbarrow if you have one, and yard tools: rakes, shovels, chippers, etc. If you have any questions, see Mark Schneider or Ed Leafdale.

Join us for GEMS on Thursday, May 9th at 10:45 a.m. for lunch at the Terrace Café at Troy Athens High School. If you plan to attend, please sign up by May 2nd on the bulletin board in the narthex. We look forward to seeing you and a friend! For more information, please contact Debbie Leafdale or Joyce Jarnick.

Movie Morning and Lunch
We’re going out this month to Emagine Theater (behind Best Buy in the shopping mall at Rochester and Auburn) to see Breakthrough at 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8th. It’s rated PG and is listed as a biography, drama starring Topher Grace, Chrissy Metz and Josh Lucas. When her 14-year-old son drowns in a lake, a faithful mother prays for him to come back from the brink of death and be healed. After the movie, we will go to Olive Garden for lunch. Join us, won’t you?

Stewardship Sunday
June 2nd will be our annual stewardship Sunday when members are asked to make their financial commitment to our church’s mission for the coming year. Please make a special effort to be in worship on that Sunday as we dedicate our pledges during the service. If you cannot be there you may obtain a pledge card from the church office to complete and return. The generosity of the congregation has made it possible to have a balanced budget for the last three years. Our goal is to continue to have a financially healthy church. In the weeks leading up to June 2nd there will be a focus on how we made use of our gifts and resources.

Vote for the Summer Sermons Series!
Pastor Jasmine and Pastor Dan have two ideas for sermons throughout the summer. One idea is to preach through difficult, hard to understand passages, partly inspired by your input. The other idea would be to preach through the book of Confessions, which the Presbyterian Church defines as our guiding documents and is heavily influenced by Scripture. We would like you to vote on May 12 or 19. If you are not going to be in church both of those Sundays, let us know and we’ll get your vote in another way.

Sermon Bible Study
Our sermon Bible study is changing days from Tuesdays to Thursdays at 2pm, and will resume on May 16, at Barnes and Noble in Rochester Hills.

VFW Poppy Day Donations
Please support our Veterans Hospital. Poppies will be available in fellowship hall after Sunday services on May 12th. Thank you for your support of our Veterans.
