Volunteer at Forgotten Harvest
We have another opportunity to volunteer with Forgotten Harvest for Monday Warehouse repacks on Monday, May 20, 1 pm – 4 pm. Please RSVP to Louise, and she will email you the link with information. Preregistration online is recommended but not required; a mandatory dress code is listed online.

Happy Mother’s Day!
The pink carnation is a reminder of how much you are loved! (Thanks to Ruth Fedor for providing them!)

Wheelbarrow Rodeo!
Please join us on May 18th from 9am to 1pm, for Church Spring Clean-up! Bring your wheelbarrow if you have one, and yard tools: rakes, shovels, chippers, etc. Lunch will be provided! If you have any questions, see Mark Schneider or Ed Leafdale.

Stewardship Sunday
June 2nd will be our annual stewardship Sunday when members are asked to make their financial commitment to our church’s mission for the coming year. Please make a special effort to be in worship on that Sunday as we dedicate our pledges during the service. If you cannot be there you may obtain a pledge card from the church office to complete and return. The generosity of the congregation has made it possible to have a balanced budget for the last three years. Our goal is to continue to have a financially healthy church. In the weeks leading up to June 2nd there will be a focus on how we made use of our gifts and resources.

Vote for the Summer Sermons Series!
Pastor Jasmine and Pastor Dan have two ideas for sermons throughout the summer. One idea is to preach through difficult, hard to understand passages, partly inspired by your input. The other idea would be to preach through the book of Confessions, which the Presbyterian Church defines as our guiding documents and is heavily influenced by Scripture. We would like you to vote on May 12 or 19. If you are not going to be in church both of those Sundays, let us know and we’ll get your vote in another way.

CROP Walk Thanks
We had a wonderful CROP walk last week. The weather was perfect and the hospitality was great. Walkers were Louise, Garth, Amelia, Debbie, Holly, Jasmine, Joe and Emma. Penny Luebs was there rooting us on. We raised just under $400 for the crop walk. Thanks to all of the walkers and donors. ~Joe Peterson

Sermon Bible Study
Our sermon Bible study is changing days from Tuesdays to Thursdays at 2pm, and will resume this Thursday, May 16, at Barnes and Noble in Rochester Hills.

Teach an Adult to Read or Speak English!
The Oakland Literacy Council is in need of volunteer tutors in the Troy area, where there is a waiting list of students! Training will be provided on Saturday, June 8th, 9am – 4 pm. For more information please call the Oakland Literacy Council at 248-253-1617 or visit the website at (We will not be offering the Summer English Workshop in our church this summer.)

Girl Scout Gold Awards!
On May 5th, Megan Ray and Bob Jackson’s granddaughter, Abigail Collins-Carey, received their Girl Scout Gold Award. Megan’s Gold Award Project was making a Butterfly Garden in a courtyard at Hart Middle School in Rochester. Abigail used her experience as an exchange student in Uruguay to build a program called Shared Exchange, helping students learn about cultures in different countries.
We congratulate you both!

VFW Poppy Day Donations
Please support our Veterans Hospital. Poppies will be available in fellowship hall after the service today. Thank you for your support of our Veterans. ~Ed Leafdale
