Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting of the Congregation will take place on Sunday, March 20th, 2016 immediately following the worship service. This is the required annual meeting where each committee will present a written brief report regarding their committee highlights for 2015. The financial information for 2015 and 2016 will also be presented. The annual reports are now available in the narthex. If you have any questions, please contact Wayne Goeman.

Community Good Friday Service
This year’s Ecumenical Good Friday Service will take place at 12:00 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 5500 N. Adams Road, Troy.

Troy-area Interfaith Group (TIG)
“The Troy-area Interfaith Group exists to invite all faith communities to gather, grow and give for the sake of promoting the common values of love, peace and justice among all religions locally and globally. We believe that peace among peoples and nations requires peace among the religions.”
The next TIG Meeting will take place on Monday, April 11th, from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at Congregation Shir Tikvah, 3900 Northfield Parkway, Troy. The topic will be “Exploring Jewish Movements: Histories, Faiths and Traditions”. Rabbi Arnie Sleutelberg will provide an overview and lead the discussion. Please see the bulletin board in the narthex for information on many of the group’s upcoming events.

Blood Drive
The City of Troy will sponsor two all-day blood drives at the Troy Community Center, Wednesday, April 27th and Thursday, April 28th, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. If you would like to donate, call Troy Community Affairs at 248-524-1147, or see Karen Lake to register you. You may also walk-in, if you prefer.

Easter Egg Hunt hosted by Christian Education Committee
The CE Committee will host an Easter Egg Hunt following the Easter service on the west lawn, weather permitting. If the weather is a concern, the Egg Hunt will be held in the Fellowship Hall. If you would like to donate a bag of small, individually wrapped candies to put into the plastic eggs, please bring them to the church office by Sunday, March 20th. Thank you for your support. The children look forward to this Easter celebration each year.

GEMS-God’s Elegant Mature Servants
The next GEMS meeting will take place on Thursday, March 24th at 12:00 p.m. A representative from Oakmont Assisted Living will be here and we will play Bingo. The menu will be soup, salad and dessert. If you have any questions or would like to bring a dish, please see Bonnie Sherwood or Debbie Leafdale.

Troy People Concerned Pasta Dinner
The TPC will hold its annual Spring Pasta Dinner on Wednesday, April 13th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. The dinner will take place at the San Marino Club, 1685 E. Big Beaver Road in Troy. There will be an open buffet, cash bar, silent auction, and more. Please see Marilyn Johnson for tickets. Admission is $20. Children under 10 are $5.

Life Line Screening
We are pleased to offer a preventive health event. Life Line Screening will host their affordable, non-invasive and painless health screenings on 4/5/2016. Five screenings will be offered that scan for potential health problems related to: blocked arteries which is a leading cause of stroke; abdominal aortic aneurysms which can lead to a ruptured aorta; hardening of the arteries in the legs which is a strong predictor of heart disease; atrial fibrillation or irregular heart beat which is closely tied to stroke risk; and a bone density screening, for men and women, used to assess the risk of osteoporosis.
