We are pleased to welcome The Rev. Dr. Kathryn Thoresen to the pulpit this morning. She serves as Parish Associate for Foster/Adoptive Families Partnerships at First Presbyterian Church, Birmingham. She is also the state-wide coordinator of the Faith Communities Coalition on Foster Care. This grass roots organization includes congregations of all faiths, child welfare agencies and foster/adoptive parents. They meet to help raise awareness about the plight of our 13,000 Michigan children in foster care and invite involvement. Descriptive flyers are available. Kate is married to Tom Thoresen. They have lived in Troy for over 30 years, have 3 grown children and two grandkids—one 19 and the other 9 months.
Vacation And Study Leave Time
Ann and Bill will travel east to stay with family and friends in Vermont and New Hampshire. It is one of their favorite places in all the world!! The last week will be spent at a Jesuit Retreat Center near Cleveland, Ohio. They expect to return refreshed on June 12th.

Many Thanks for Sunday School Teachers!
The Christian Education Team would like to thank the following people for teaching Sunday School this past year:
Kelly and Doug Ray taught most of the Sundays, and Megan helped her mom make lesson copies for teachers.
Others teachers are: Becky Misuraca, Shirley Hull, Gene Williams, Gwen Thompson, Ruth Fedor, Kathy and Olivia Lalko, Al and Karen Lake.
We know it can take some time to prepare a lesson, but it is so much fun being with the children on Sunday. We have a great group of young people, and older ones help the younger ones, which is great to see!
Volunteer Opportunity in Troy!
Looking for fun ways to get involved in your community this summer? Volunteer with the Troy Historical Society! Sign up to help with Troy Traffic Jam Car Show (Aug 6) or Threads Quilt Exhibit at the Troy Historic Village (Aug 7 – 18). Training provided. Contact email@example.com or call 248-524-3570 for more details. Additional information is also available on the bulletin board in the narthex.
Cereal For Summer!
Soon our children will be finishing another year of school. For many children, this means they may go without enough food to eat. The Presbytery’s Hunger Ministries Program is asking for our help. We will be collecting: breakfast bars, juice boxes, cereal and small boxes of raisins. Every box you donate will be given to families in need by our church partners through their food programs.
Please bring in your items by June 11th. They will be delivered to the Presbytery office on June 12th. Thank you for helping to keep our children fed.
Deacons’ American Red Cross Blood Drive: Need Volunteers for July 10th
Our next American Red Cross Blood Drive will take place here at the church on Monday, July 10th (1:30pm to 7:30pm). Please see the sign-up sheets posted on the Deacons’ bulletin board (outside of Fellowship Hall) if you wish to donate your time, cookies, or a meal item. Contact Gwen Thompson if you have any questions regarding the blood drive.
~Sunday, June 11th: We will again welcome Jason Morgan to our pulpit. Jason is always someone we like to hear and have with us leading worship.
