Troy People Concerned Food Pantry
So far this summer, our congregation has contributed generously to the CE Cereal for Summer and the Deacon Backpack collections. Now, let us once again remember the TPC Food Pantry, a local food source for those in need. Below are the items that the TPC Food Pantry lists as current needs, but any non-perishable food and paper, cleaning, or personal hygiene products are welcome… even the motel size shampoos etc.
Thank you for your continued support of this local mission.
Cleaning products (small sizes from dollar store are fine.)
We welcome The Rev. Dr. Roxie Davis to our pulpit this morning. Rev. Davis has been in ministry for over 40 years, along with her husband, The Rev. Dr. Bill Davis. They have served as co-pastors in Massachusetts, Iowa, Indiana, and Michigan, most recently at the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Clemens for 11 years, and they served as the only Co-Executive Presbyters in the PCUSA in Nebraska for 10 years, from 1990 to 2000. They retired from professional ministry in September, 2013 and moved to Port Huron, Michigan. They have three grown children. We’re happy to have you with us this morning!
Annual Reports Due
If you were a committee chairperson anytime between the months of January 2016 and June 2017, please submit your reports for the Annual Meeting to Penny in the office. The Annual Meeting of the Congregation will take place on September 10, 2017.
The book group will be meeting later this summer. On Wednesday, August 23rd, we will be discussing Clara and Mr. Tiffany by Susan Vreeland. New readers are always welcome! We will discuss Gone With the Wind on September 27th if enough people read or reread it over the summer–a great read for the summer months!
