GEMS: God’s Elegant Mature Servants
Join us for GEMS on Thursday, February 20th at 12:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. Ed Leafdale will be giving a presentation of his vision and the building of Veteran Memorial Pointe in Rochester Hills in 1997. The menu for lunch will include chicken salad and egg salad on croissants, salads, vegetables and desserts. There are two sign-up sheets on the bulletin board in the narthex. Please sign up if you plan to attend, and if you would like to bring a dish to pass. We look forward to seeing you and a friend! Book Group Date Change
Book Group will meet on the 3rd Wednesday this month, February 19th at 7:00. We are reading Behold the Dreamers by Imbolo Mbue. All are welcome!

Welcome Inn Returns to Starr Presbyterian Church
The Welcome Inn Day Center has moved back to Starr Presbyterian (on the corner of 13 Mile and Crooks) in Royal Oak. It is open from 7:00 am-7:00 pm for the homeless population. If you are interested in volunteering contact South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless at 248-850-3219.

Mission Donation
The session voted at its January meeting to donate $500 from its mission account to Grace Centers of Hope in Pontiac. They offer a wide range of services to the community but were forced to recently close their emergency shelter due to a $600,000 budget shortfall.

Ash Wednesday Services, February 26
Join together with Northminster and Central Woodward Christian Church for Ash Wednesday services here at Troy. There will be a 12:00pm service in Fellowship Hall that will include a soup and bread lunch afterward. There will also be an evening service at 7:00pm that will be held in the sanctuary.

Winter Lecture at the Kirk
Come join us on Friday February 21 at 6:30pm for dinner and lecture by Dr. Earl Lewis, founder of University of Michigan’s Social Solutions. He will address issues of diversity. Cost is only $20. Sign up can be found on Kirk’s website under resources and “online registration”, or by calling Wendy, administrative assistant for Christian Formation: 248-847-3421.

Presbyterian Women of Detroit Annual Retreat
Presbyterian Women of Detroit invite all women to a day of spritual renewal on Saturday, March 14, 9:00 am-2:30 pm. at First Presbyterian Church of Farmington. The keynote speaker will be Sharon Garlough Brown, author of Sensible Shoes. More information is available on the narthex bulletin board. Registration is due March 6.
