GEMS: God’s Elegant Mature Servants
GEMS will be meeting on Thursday, February 22nd at 12:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. The speaker will be Jamie Samolej from Oakmont Senior Community Center. Jamie will be looking forward to meeting everyone and would like to play bingo with all of you. The menu for lunch will include soups, salads, and desserts. There are two sign-up sheets on the bulletin board in the narthex. Please sign up if you plan to attend, and if you would like to bring either a salad, vegetable or dessert. For more information, please contact Kathy Hyde or Debbie Leafdale.

Please note: If there is a snow storm on the day of GEMS and Troy Community Schools are closed, then GEMS will also not take place. We would reschedule it for the next month.

Movie Morning
We have a great movie lined up for our February Movie Morning, “Victoria and Abdul.” We’ve changed the date from Wednesday, February 14th (since that is Ash Wednesday) to Wednesday, February 21st at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary.
The movie shows how Queen Victoria strikes up an unlikely friendship with a young Indian clerk named Abdul Karim.
Hope you can join us for the movie, trivia and popcorn.

Lenten Study Starting Ash Wednesday, February 14th
Starting today, the CE Team is providing each church family with a copy of a 2018 Lenten Devotional Booklet called Jesus and the Prophets. It is similar to the calendar format of the Advent Study booklets. In addition, the Team has created a Prayer Calendar with names of church members and friends and others outside the church to pray for each day. And, we have decorated safety pins you can wear to remind you that in this time of prayer and reflection, God’s love keeps us safe.

Ash Wednesday Devotion and Dinner
The Ash Wednesday Service and Dinner will be held this Wednesday, February 14th at 6:00 p.m. Food will be provided. Please see the sign-up sheet in the narthex.
