Kroger Rewards Re-enrollment
It’s time to re-enroll in the Kroger Community Rewards Program. This is necessary for all current and new participants. You will need to enter our non-profit number of 90164 at www.krogercommunityrewards.com to ensure that purchases are credited to our church. This can be done anytime during the month of April. The program brought in over $500 for the Deacons last year, so the rewards really add up!

GEMS: God’s Elegant Mature Servants
GEMS will meet on Thursday, April 27th at 12:00 p.m. The speaker will be Officer Russell Barrows, from the Troy Police Department with a presentation on safety. The menu for lunch will include ham, salad, vegetables and dessert. Please see the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside of Fellowship Hall. We would love for you to come and bring a friend! For more information, please contact Kathy Hyde or Debbie Leafdale.

Consecration Sunday, May 21st
On Sunday, May 21st, we will be dedicating our pledges during worship for the upcoming fiscal year which begins July 1st. Worship will be followed by a celebration lunch in fellowship hall. Plan now to attend services on this important Sunday, and to stay for the lunch provided by the finance committee. Over the next few weeks we will be having several “minute for stewardship” speakers during worship, sharing their thoughts on the meaning of giving and sharing God’s gifts.

Upcoming Mission Opportunity, CROP Walk:
-Clawson/Troy Crop Hunger Walk is Sunday, May 7, 2017. Registration is at noon, and the walk begins at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 749 W. 14 Mile Road, Clawson.

-Save the Date to Join the Walk OR Support Our Walkers with a Financial Pledge

-There will be a 3-mile route and a 1.5-mile route to choose from.

Please see Joyce or Joe Peterson if you want to walk. We have the registration forms for our Church. Monies raised by the walk are used by Church World Service (CWS), an international relief, development, and refugee resettlement agency. Monies are used to provide food, medical care, disaster relief, and self-help development for people in need in the U.S. and around the world. This year 25% of the funds raised from the Clawson/Troy walk will be distributed locally to Clawson Community Food Bank and Troy People Concerned; the two local agencies chosen for 2017.

-Checks should be made out to CWS / CROP
It is a 501 C-3 Organization and we can provide you with a receipt for your donation

-What is the point of walking? “Hungry people in developing countries typically walk as many as six miles a day to get food, water and fuel, and to take their goods to market. We walk to be in solidarity with their struggle for existence. We walk because we want to end hunger – one step at a time.”

Thank you!
It is with a thankful heart that your pastors write this note to so many of you. When we were asked by Northminster Presbyterian if we had space to store ALOT of diapers
that they received, the reply was quick and positive!! And on Tuesday, the 18th, after expecting them to arrive on the 17th, the truck arrived and the following members were among those who teamed up with Northminster to unload and bring into the church: Ed Glac, Jim Meinershagen, Mark Schneider, Wayne Goeman, Penny Brady. Over the next few months the Baby Basics program will be using these for their ministry. This is so much what it means to be a connectional church!

Lent And Easter Thanks!
It is no surprise to be able to write this thanks to all those who made our Lent and Easter special. Sometimes it is even difficult to name all of the elements that make up our time of gathering on Sunday morning. Thanks to Maureen and the choir; to Marlene and Ed for Easter lily arrangements, as well as to those who bought them; to Becky Misuraca for all her help with Lenten table symbols with lights and beach glass; to the deacons for special Fellowship Hour and communion set up; to our liturgists; to Penny who has provided our worship with the PowerPoint; to Karen Lake for helping with our conversation about the Psalms; plus, plus. It is wonderful to see so many of you in worship and we are grateful for each one of you.
